So I grossed about $20.25 per hour when I am on line- there are day I have done $23 but usually the average has been $20.25. To earn $20.25 gross hours-> I have to drive about 40 miles-> (including my dead miles). Gas cost for 40 miles $3.85 (MPG @ 27 and Gas Price is about $2.60 per gallon), My car is depreciated for $3.43 ($0.09 cents per mile -> $15,500/175000 Miles- I mean I do have to replace the car eventually), Oher costs $2.00 (Tires replacement @ 50k mile –Oil Change every 5,000 miles and Maintenance every 12,000 miles-> 5 cents a mile)- So in total my out of pocket expenses are $9.28-> So I bring in $10.97 before taxation->(now thanks to IRS I do not have to pay any tax on this due to 54 cents mileage deduction).

So after all is said and done-> I do make minimum wage -> It is humbling to say the least.

PS.: To make this minimum wage –I also subject myself with stressful rating-> I wonder how will the PAX feel if at their line of work – they get the 5 star rating system for each email they send- for each task they perform and even if they get 90 “5” starts and 10 “1” starts-> they get fired from their job.

There is always a bottom/minimum. Not surprising a fun, flexible and exciting GIG pays close to minimum wage. Try moving up the defecation ladder....

Say you now currently drive poop around...
Try washing poop off cars for slightly better pay...
Then try cleaning poop from clogged pipes for even more...
Then try licking poop from upper managers for even more

just climb the ladder

Are you part time? I think part-time is very feasible to do quite well hourly... at least $20/hour after taxes and expenses for my situation. Better than $8/hour at Walmart as a 2nd job.

I see myself doing ok. First.. part time (10-15 per weekend).. I already had the job, heath, insured car etc. So I add on Uber and make an overall average (so far as of 111 rides) of $10.49 per ride and 1412 miles. That equates to $22.37 per online hour (mostly 100% online) after 6 weeks.

Now consider 1412 miles with the $.545 standard deduction.. and total of $1154 earnings.. taxes should be minimal... but I am saving 20% in case.

Sure.. tires and break pads in a few years (11K on vehicle) and 40mpg.

FULL TIME? From the various sources and vids I've seen I don't think it's reasonable any more in most cities.

Ratings are stressful to you? Really?? It's the last thing I give any thought to.
I look for validation - my parents did not love me enough

YUP -> Take the $22.37 Gross and find out how many miles you drove to earn and then apply Gas cost/Car depreciation and R&M-> you will come to the same number//FORGET the IRS rate- if you apply that - you make less than $3 an hour

Not sure what you mean. But if you mean deducting standard milage for my little car and the IRS will take 77% of my final earnings at the end of the year... I don't think so. I've heard people break even (if they have lots of long runs or dead runs) and some do end up paying.. but not much more than 5-10%.

My gross earning is $20.27 per hour// to earn that in my example I drove 40 miles-> so based on the 54 cents per mile -> my mileage deduction is about $21.60-> therefore I have no taxable income-> therefore no tax liability.

If Driving for Uber is fun and exciting then I really should pay them to do it
