I-5 CLOSED BOTH DIRECTIONS IN SEATTLE. All FLYOVER RAMPS CLOSED. 10:30AM

All lanes of I-5, I-90, and approach from West Seattle Bridge to be closed.
Weather man calling for 1-2 more inches of snow tonight in Seattle. Lol.
From WSDOT:
An overturned tanker carrying butane has both directions of I-5 near downtown Seattle closed. All ramps are also closed. Northbound must exit at West Seattle/Columbian Way/Spokane St. Southbound must exit at James. Westbound I-90 must exit at Rainier. Eastbound I-90 is closed at the stadiums. There is no estimate for the highway reopening.
Think of the drivers stuck on i-5 with UberPool runs making that $0.13/minute. That $7.80/hour gross must feel real good.

UPDATE: The SB I-5 ramp to EB I-90 is now open. However, still exit before or expect lengthy delays.
I expect it'll fully reopen by rush hour, although traffic will still suck. Taking the ferry across and driving to Tacoma makes no sense at all with alternative such as 99/599 and 405, etc.
No surge yet, but it is noon on a Monday.

No way it will be open. None.
They still have to figure out how to transfer propane over to a new tank.
Ferry Terminal in West Seattle at Fauntleroy now closed due to mechanical issues. All runs cancelled.

i just got home from DT. getting into the city from the siuth will be ridiculous stupid. North Airport Way is closed at or near Spokane St. Had to go south on Airport Way to Michigan to get on I-5 but was backed up bad. I ran west to 4th and came down E Marginal.

3rd ave in DT heading toward stadiums is already backing up. Going to be a long commute. WSDOT just tweeted this:
#1 - Avoid Seattle area roads if you can this afternoon.
#2 - If you must drive, let us know if you need help with a route.

Soooooo tempting. But as I live in S King County I expect getting into the city to take those surge rides is more of a pain that it will be worth.

3X in DT Seattle already. Just left my office to go home and do a rare weekday shift! Huge hailstorm in DT now too!
