Current stay home order lasts till April 30. I think we will be home through May at least as well.

If covid-19 isn’t seasonal and doesn’t die off in the hotter summer months, would you be ok returning to business as usual in the absence of a vaccine or treatment?

Any predictions? Like June?
What does it matter? By LATEST the end of June, your orange president will say "chop chop, everybody back to work" regardless there's virus or not. You should worry more about how long the depression will last. Things are not gonna be peachy for a long time.

I think this is correct. With this many people out of work worldwide and all the economic damage from months of businesses being closed I don't see how there won't be a full fledged depression. The cash payments from governments will help soften the blow, but it's not going to stop a collapse.

It's going to be interesting. Inflation is going to be the big issue. The government can't just print money with no consequences. When I was growing up in the 80's mortgage rates hit 20%. I have a feeling that's where we are heading. Makes it almost impossible to buy a home, my house payment was $800 with $700 of it being interest. And that was on a $50,000 house. If you buy a new car your payment would go from $400 a month to $800. So you can bet home sales, car sales any big ticket items are going to tank. I think 20years is setting pretty with the used car parts, not sure about the rest of us.

BINGO AND BINGO

California has been the leader on how to handle this. Not perfect, but better than most places. We have 39 MILLION people in this state and the deaths reported are fairly low.

My guess is Newsom will want to keep California on lockdown until June 1. MY GUESS, not a fact for people who have no reading comprehension. It could be sooner, but the real problem is going to be work... even if they allow most people back to work, there is going to be no business for drivers. Again, three main reasons why people take rideshare, WORK, SCHOOL, and DRINKING... Schools are probably not going back this school year, and people aren't going to be going to large venues like concerts or games anytime in the near future. Plus, you are gonna have the added benefit of a MILLION new drivers added to the platform because everyone is out of work.

Yea the sporting events will be NO. Fans.
Schools off until late August / September
Work... with so many companies having employees Telecommute, I am wondering how many will adopt this way as a way of doing normal business with maybe 1 or 2 days in the office

If people are collecting that unemployment, might not be to motivated to get back to work anytime soon...

For ride-share, this is the perfect time for some people to leave and no look back ( not like this situation has not made it clear, but... Truck Driver.... Police, Fire, Nurse, Doctor, pharmacist, 911 dispatcher... I mean look for jobs that cant really go out of business and if it is to late for you make sure your kids don't fall into it

I had a great Honey Hole that I could get multiple LAX or BUR airport rides at certain times of day, now I wonder how many of those are just going to ZOOM now instead of travel to the site.

The one question I am curious about is, after the "stay at home" order is lifted, will uber/lyft drivers unemployment benefits end? (assuming they ever begin). The one argument we have right now is its too slow to work, or we are trying to do out part in "flattening the curve". So IMHO we have a really good case right now... but come June, its gonna be harder to make that case.

your honey hole was one of the first to send their workers to work from home and send their consultants back to their cities :)

Many things will change and reshape for sure. Movie theaters, food trucks could be a thing from the past. Old school drive thru movie theaters could make a strong come back.

Even though if the scientists say it’s safe to be in a crowd, people will hold back for how long only God knows.

The good thing is, many jobs are actually could be managed from home. I seriously don’t understand the ****ing reason why someone should be sitting in a cubicle rather than a home office.

This probably would end up killing the commercial real estate market besides the rideshare and major hospitality business ventures.

I feel like once this is over, the world as we know will never be the same.

Sounds like A playbook of Georgia Stones happening in real time. Kind of strange considering just about a few weeks ago I was posting pictures on this website showing the Georgia stones and the meaning behind them. This was way before any virus talk abounded.
