They cant reduced the salary of the employees but how come they can reduce the independent contractors share? Why is the government not protecting the independent contractors for that?

Key words “independent contractors “
I am aware of it but how come independent contractors can not be protected at least from salary point of view by the government. Just because we are independent contractors should not allow anyone to treat us in an inhumane way. I am not asking the same rights that employees have but at least basic rights should be protected whether you are an employee or and independent contractor

Your given the choice to accept or decline the pay for trip each and every time the alert appears on the screen.

You don't like the pay or the customer ratings or where it's going? Decline.

You can't help it if another contractor is willing to work cheaper than you. However if your consistent and only accept $1+ per mile trips, the other drivers consìstently working cheaper will eventually go bankrupt. But sometimes even I'll accept a low ball offer because it's doubling back over my tracks towards home and something is better than nothing.

Of you want a salary and a set pay each week, you need to get a regular job.

Ridesharing is a gig job using independent contractors.
