Hey everyone,

This is the serious RC talking here when I say PLEASE use good judgement tonight as far as driving.
No amount of money is worth more than your life..

Be Safe...Even you Trolls. ;)

My D.O.D. has already been determined the day I was born. If the man up stair say it's my time tonight then there's no running away from it no matter what you do, period!

I done to cold.... Plus Sunday night sucks...
I think the past 2 weekend been surging pretty good compare to normal. Better cash in while you still can because you know it will be sh*t after new year. Winter slump/pay cut is coming.

WTF?! It's just cold. It's not like the World is coming to an end because the temps in Houston drop near or below freezing. Now, if you want to send that warning out to the massive Houston homeless population I completely agree!

People from Chicago and NY go through much worse than us everyday. All you need is a little bit (like 1 gallon) of kool aid in your body is then everything will a-okay.

Seriously NEVER drive in Houston in icy conditions. I don't think that's a problem tonight, but when we do have that occasional rare ice storm, Houston drivers literally are completely oblivious. They don't understand that bridges get frozen over.

Who here is old enough to remember and lived here in '89? That's the year that prompted the city to stockpile sand and salt btw. We had NONE before then and no plan whatsoever for ice.

You think it's bad now when it freezes...

not old enough, but i remember a really bad ice storm in the early 90's

And there was a moderately bad one in college station in 07, but i had awd with a great traction control system so i spent the day driving on it for fun.

I remember. We had a long freeze. When it thawed I had a 76 german built capri with a cracked block ( not enough anti-freeze). Long story it was parked and I was using another car. It still ran ofter, but had to go to Pick a Part and get an engine for $89.

I grew up in Canada and learned to drive on snow and ice for 9 months per year. The issue in Houston is not so much you but the other guy. Even the bus drivers suck in icy conditions. Tailgating, cutting lanes and speeding absolutely will not cut it on ice. Throw in a hill or an overpass and you have a disaster.
Driving on ice is just like docking a big yacht....you can add speed but you cannot take it away. Trust me if you are going too fast for the situation you will crash.

Phhht. I grew up in Buffalo. Buncha whining little thin skin pansie snowflakes in this thread. ❄ ;)
The pipes are buried a little deeper there. That's one big problem. If it freezes for too long they all freeze, then when it thaws they're all broken.

Besides, the folks up north start dropping like flies when it reaches 100. We just shrug.
