I have another demand. There should be a cancel fee as soon as a driver accepts the ride. Something like $1.00 per minute up to $5.00 that goes directly to the driver. Yes Uber, I said goes directly to the driver, and you get none. That way we can drive to client without fear of wasting gas only to get cancelled on. Isn't this fair? I mean how often have you pulled up right to the location and received a cancellation right after spending 5-10 minutes getting to them. It's especially irritating when you're heading to a hot spot and this happens while on the way.

Yeah the biggest problem with this so call Strike. To many sheep jumping at it.

I don't see one thing saying STOP HIRING SO MANY DAMN DRIVERS.

The cities making less then a dollar have room to whine. But do they!?! If Lyft is around riders will use that service. Which will remain cheaper if Uber brings up the rates in those cities. So they lose pax to competition. Wonder how many drivers would switch. Why not make the rates even then move forward.

Get rates capped at a minimum so the competition is about quality of service then rates. It will put the brakes on the price war that hurts the drivers.

Here in Houston we don't have competition. Other then to many drivers!!
Don't see people saying crap about that. Stop Hiring Drivers!!

This whole thing boils me. So loosely done and knee jerk demands. I don't think one person has really thought this whole thing through completely.

Also how in the hell can anyone be called a scab. There is NO UNION. Scab refers to people willing to work for a company in place of the Unionized employees. Its like people heard a word as a kid and couldn't wait to use it.

What no one seems to realize is the people in the various groups and forums are just a fraction of a percentage of the drivers out there. 99.9999% have no clue any of these groups exist. Therfore Uber don't give a flying flip if you don't work. Fake accounts calling for Ubers won't disrupt a thing. All your gonna accomplish is missing a couple days pay yourself. What Uber does sucks, but you have the choice not to do it. Pissing in the wind won't do anything but make your leg wet and smell bad.

lol. we already did the polls. the strike is on. Oct 16th at 5 pm.
So you polled what less then 1% and came up with the stupid idea. This is worse then I thought. And very careless.
All I am seeing is money. And the news had it right. Some drivers thinking they are entitled.

Also I guess no one follows the issues that Wal-Mart is having now. They stop hiring mostly do to restructure in the way they hire and train.

Uber needs to stop hiring so many drivers. The cities with very low rates need to make Uber at least meet Lyft. Then organize to get state legislatives to cap the rates.

No plans to demand fake rides then cancel. This only hurts those who chose to drive that weekend. I'm all for the resistance factor. With now multiple interviews scheduled this week for a real job I may very well have the app off anyway. Just spreading the word.

As a smart person, I understand what you are saying.

I believe the word strike was used to get attention and as a call to drivers to not work during that time.

Capping the number of TNC drivers would be great. So would some competition. However Lyft drivers are supposedly participating too.

Bottom line a great way to state how you feel about driving for Uber and their unfair practices is to say nothing at all. Picketing isn't my thing but not working at all would create a ripple and who knows from there what might happen.

Uber was always part time for me. I worked (and still do) a typical M-F 8-5 job while driving for Uber.
Good for you! I mean it. I hope to completely stop once I get a new job. Never been a 2+ job person. Just one good paying job. I have worked and studied too hard to settle for peanuts. I really feel for those where this is your real job. I know it's hard and the money is not adding up the way you need it to. It just sucks honestly.

we're getting media coverage. we even have uber man talking about it. it's in the negative but it still brings light to the strike. we are also informing our pax so that they can find other means of transportation. downloading lyft app will hurt uber in the long run. pax will not pay high surge. those that do will not be happy. so see we don't need every driver. we just need media coverage to bring awareness.

Seems like you are saying no matter what someone does or tries won't matter. I am thinking you are not loving it either making your millions $3.20 at a time. Any better ideas or suggestions to make it at least $3.25?
