A lot of those new drivers are stupid though and I'd bet that a good percentage of them quit within a couple of months or get deactivated for a low rating.

My market is 2.5 months old and I see the tools lining up at the airport. They will sit there for an hour plus and most of the time, end up with a fare going to a hotel across the street.

Also, don't be dumb like those drivers and sit in high traffic areas. Uber sends us constant emails about the hot spots....guess what, all of those noobs flood there and sit....meanwhile the streets and colleges have only a few drivers in them.

Mind you, these kids don't tip and are.only going to house parties that are 3-4 miles away....but if you pound enough of those out, it adds up. Last weekend, in a 4 hour period, I took 19 pings (a quarter of them on XL)...just non stop....meanwhile, back at the airport queue....zzzzzzzzz.

This is a lazy job where you don't really have to wake up on a set schedule so a lot of people just keep doing it until uber will kick them out lol. Here in Toronto the newbies hang out on King St. West which is a congested street even at the best of times.
