Surely everyone realizes that whatever surge is posted on your heat map it does not guarantee they are going to include it on the ride request right away.
Right?
You all realize that?
Reality is more like the following example as you are driving into an area surging at $10
PING! Ride Request 6 minutes away / $5.50 Surge
(Driver thinks "Damn. I know it's surging right here! I can see the people!)
Decline
(App logically concludes to try...)
PING! Ride Request 5 minutes away / $7.50 Surge
(Driver thinks "Huh? What's going on right where I am?"
Decline
(App works it's way down the list)
PING! Ride Request 1 minute away / $8.75 Surge
(Driver accepts or thinks "Better but?" <== Uber get's most Drivers at this point if they did not get them with the first 2 attempts.
Decline
(App has tried so....)
PING! Ride Request <1 minute away / $10.00 Surge
ACCEPT!
The above sequence happens in 30 to 40 seconds and the drivers beside, in front of and behind you are experiencing similar. Every one of the rides are actually in the same surge area at the $10
Think and quit being a mindless ant!
