Savannah and Hilton Head Island drivers, beware! If you get a fare to the Omni Resort at Palmetto Bluff on Hilton Head Island, avoid the fare! That is, unless you have a $10 daily pass to access this resort. This seems to be an exception to the gated private residences that Uber has published information about. I just got hit with a $10 fee to go three quarters of a mile into Palmetto Bluff to drop off passengers.
This extortion is unreasonable.
If your pick up was on Hilton Head and you take someone to this resort, a $10 fee is astronomical. There's no way to make that kind of money back. Fortunately for me today my ride originated at the Amtrak station in Savannah. But that still was over 10% of my total take home pay.
So beware. If you get a fare to this resort, we should inform the passenger that they will be charged $10 for access. For what it's worth, an annual decal is available for $220. I don't think you can make 22 runs into that resort in a year if you can, more power to you.
Complained to Uber to get this resolved.
