Hi Everyone, I'm Chris and a new driver to Uber Philly. I've done a bunch of research and browsed the forums before posting but have a couple of newbie questions that I didn't see a pinned thread explaining Any help would be greatly appreciated! I plan to focus on night driving and look to be kicking off most of my nights in the Delco area between Clifton Heights and Media, possibly heading up to the Main line. I'd be looking at running 8:00 PM-2:00 AM 3-4 nights a week including weekends.
1. I saw somewhere in my reading that I would need to send pictures of my PA Vehicle inspection information to Uber in order to get pings in the suburbs outside of Philly. I assume that this is correct, but wanted to verify that this is accurate.
2. Uber Placards: I've read a lot of information back and forth regarding the necessity of placards. It appears that in Philly where the PPA is the watching out for UberX(L) drivers that these aren't required, but the outlying areas they are. Do people in the suburbs use the placards and are they a requirement? I've also read about light up placards. Are these Better/worth it, etc? DO people driving for multiple companies need to change these out before every pickup/dropoff?
3. I have a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan which I primarily want to use as an XL vehicle provided the business is there. I've launched the partner app after going online and only see my vehicle as an Uber X vehicle. I've emailed support to have a duplicate vehicle added listed as an XL to I can toggle between scenarios. Is this all that's needed?
