I'm surprised how many times I have to ask parents to buckle up their kids before I proceed. It's probably been close to 20% of the time since I started Ubering. Should be 0%!

While only the District of Columbia holds drivers responsible for adult passengers' using the nanny-ER-uh-seat belts, all of them hold the driver responsible for passengers under the age of sixteen. That is the only reason that I insist on their use for minors all over or for adults in the District of Columbia. This does not apply to taxis, though, so if I am driving the cab that day, I do not care what they do.

I've had to go back and forth with Rohit and the gang about cancellation fee for no child seat. Usually first response is the drivel about 'you must wait 5 minutes for a cancellation fee'. I respond 'so you're telling me I should've broken the law and transported the child with no seat?' and that usually does it.
