Uber to freeze fake rider account names, pilot front-facing video recording
Uber releases safety features geared toward the driver, including freezing fake rider accounts and piloting front-facing video recording.

I have taken to honking, and sometimes rolling down my window and pointing to any driver looking down at the phone on their lap. They can't see traffic. These are the idiots that rear end us with a pax in the car and cut in that $2500 deductible. F. U.This is going to be interesting with those who have their phone glued to their hand while they're driving instead of mounted.
Whoops. Just as I feared.Actually, I forgot about the audio recording. Will have to make sure the drivers app has not been given permission.
And where are these recordings going? Saved on smart phone (requires a lot of storage space) or streamed directly to Uber which requires a lot of bandwidth (and a lot of storage space)…![]()

This is already the case since the app supports voice calling. Probably it could be set to Ask every time since this isn't frequently used.Whoops. Just as I feared.
Good point! I'll have to see if this prevents talking to pax when they call. This is already the case since the app supports voice calling. Probably it could be set to Ask every time since this isn't frequently used.
