I was at the airport last night because I was coming in from another flight. Southwest has had major complications hte last two days and still a lot of people trying to get where they are going much later than usual, etc. So about midnight, after I finished up my lost bag claim (sigh...) I checked uber to see how many cars were out there. I'd been checking throughout the evening just out of curiousity but there seemed to be an ample supply at most times, though at one point I checked around 9:30pm and there was only one on one of the sides. Weird, for Uber.
But around 10, I started noticing uber's weren't circling. There were none parked at the passenger pickup area. It still said ubers available, but they were all 8-10 minutes away. And there were HUNDREDS of people waiting for rides out there. Uber's must've been being requested before they even got near the airport. And then around 11:00, this happened. I've never seen it before, and had to screenshot and share it.
I went ahead and picked up a ride and took them downtown. If I wasn't so tired from my day of travel I'd have circled back because I checked again a few times and each time it said no uberx's available.

Thats nothing unusual now for a Thursday night. Especially around 9pm when most road warriors are returning home from their week on the road. I dont know why Uber dont send out text alerts to drivers to let them know that theres huge demand Thurs and Sun night. Or let it surge at DIA.

Still don't understand why you guys are discussing these secrets again....
You're so silly. I know I've covered this same subject matter before, but it certainly didn't feel like I was "discussing secrets".
This is a full time gig for me, so the added expense of a second line has been totally worth it for me. I use the second phone to gauge my UberXL competition at DIA to see where to best position myself and in general to monitor the number of UberX drivers swarming on each terminal side and looping around the terminal roads. I try to be disciplined about how long I hold out for an UberXL before I switch to my X-or-XL profile, but if both terminal sides are swarming with available XL cars, I typically don't bother with XL-only mode.

Note that Uber never surges at DIA - as is the case at all major airports - but Lyft will occasionally show PrimeTime around the terminal building. That's when you need to switch to your UberSelect-only profile. Most drivers drive for both Uber and Lyft, so UberX-only drivers will log out and only be available to accept Lyft rides. At that point, riders will see "NO UberX AVAILABLE" and be forced to request UberSelect, UberXL (yay me!) or Lyft+PT.

On a side note about the airport. BEWARE of the 25MPH slowdown on the West side. Yesterday saw a arm attached to a radar gun appear behind the orange barrel. Luckily I saw it unfortunately the dude next to me didn't the SPEED trap is crazy out there.
I had an independent pilot warn me of this late last year. Said he got a ticket for going 5 over. Slow the **** down going up the ramps. Its also pretty sweet that there is a $400 ticket zone for almost half of Pena now. Do you ever see construction going on? No. Do you ever see coppers hiding out? Almost always.

I dunno, maybe the construction is going on overnight?

There are tons of drivers and more coming on, so in a sense this is discussing secrets.

When driving becomes slowly harder and harder for you, then this forum might realize. Use your brains and experience to your advantage, not simply feed others the skills you have and have learned.

While I understand what you are saying, I personally enjoy being able talk to other drivers, get their thoughts, bounce ideas off of them, get questions answered, as well as offer insight or advice to others. Lord knows Uber doesn't provide anything!! & it can be very confusing and stressful. Especially at the beginning. Hell I've been driving 16 months and I'm still learning the ropes! LoL If anything was that big of a money maker for one of us and knowing not many drivers were aware of it, I think we would be smart enough to not blast it on a forum . the way i look at it,this is our support system LoL

I do have a trick or two up my sleeve that I have never shared so that I still have an edge over the dozen or so [out of what 6,000?] Denver drivers that hang out on this forum.

I really got say you Denver uber drivers are too paranoid. The vast majority of drivers are just seduced by uber advertisements, and are trading their cars equity for cash, not reading any on the internet on how to actuals post a profit. Thanks for the tips about DIA on Thursday and Sunday nights ;)

Paranoid? I think your statement makes the term, gullible sound more appropriate. However I tend to disagree. I talk to plenty of people who ponder the idea of driving and the majority of them, decide not to do it because of their car
