The department, led by Eugene Scalia, gig workers can claim unemployment benefits only if they are "forced to suspend operations" which would hurt drivers and other gig economy employees if the apps they work for are technically still active. It also states workers may be able to return to work within two weeks of quarantining.

i dont even have a car. And what happend to making less than 504$ a week.
Also with no essential workers working. How many rides can we even complete to make ends meet? Eventually when everyone runs out of money for food, where will our income come from? Makes no sense. Cause everyone is running out of money already. I read somewhere that 40% couldn't pay for rent last month.
