not sure how it would work for you.
Typically with unemployment you file in the state you work.
You may need to file in New York State if you did the majority of rides in the city.
New York pays out less than New Jersey.
This is a free for all, so maybe test the New Jersey waters.

Unfortunately, no one really knows for sure. Just muddle through the form as best you can without blatantly lying. It will take some time for NJ to figure out this mess. My best guess is that many uber/lyft drivers will get rubber stamped and only receive the government's $600 weekly until the process can complete. Then we may be entitled to more including back pay. BUT THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION.

Wait until they have changed the questions to include Self Employed about the 7th. If you fill it out now, it will be denied in 14 days, then you will have to go through the appeals process. Now that will take forever. Just WAIT...
