I just finished getting my background check all done, and I was excited to turn the app on, but i havn't had a pax yet.

Wondering how long it normally takes, and does uber automatically assign them to you, or do they pop up on your map and you go to them? I'm just a bit clueless

In LA on a friday night? Don't see how you COULDNT get one lol.. Ya you will get notified.. It will look like this when I customer makes a request that gets assigned to you: (but i blocked out some of the actual address for the PAX protection

I remember getting my first ping 6 weeks ago. Nervous as hell, I just watched that circle count down and missed my first ride! Its crazy. I was so excited to FINALLY get approved, logged on, seconds later, 'ping!' and I froze! As I'm berating myself for cowardice, another 'ping!' comes through! I grabbed my cell and totally by accident; touched the screen and accepted the ride. Went for it. 439 rides later, I feel like grizzled veteran. Can't believe how nervous I was just 6 weeks ago.

12 long days for me. I was amp'd to get started, so it was excruciating! Seconds after I received the, you're approved email, I logged on and the above ensued. If you're awaiting approval, relax. It just takes the time it takes. Emailing Uber or the investigating agency was pointless for me. Just form letter, 'not yet' responses. I'm sure some jurisdictions may take longer or even shorter. Good luck!
