A very big "Amen" for you, podnuh!
Let 'em learn the hard way.
A very big "Amen" for you, podnuh!Krazy9000 is a new driver. One day he will learn to be a hard ass.
Can I get an amen, NOLA-Uber?
You're lucky...that case was the exception. Keep it up and your rating will undoubtedly begin dropping.Same thing happened to me outside of Ms Mae's. I told them if they wanted to finish their drinks, I'd encourage them with a few "Chug, chug, chug!"'s. They did, and eventually tipped at the end. Tact is key.
Gotta love you newbies! When a cop finally gets a look at one of your rider taking a sip from a plastic cup, he's gonna pull you over and cite you for an open container violation for each person with a cup or beer can. Minimum fine is $227 per violation.I had a young couple last night approach my car with beer in plastic cups. When they opened the back door, I told them they couldn't r ide with the open containers. I could see the liquid level in the cup was about 1/3 full. I told them if they wanted to finish the drinjs, I would wait a minute or two. They finished in a few minutes. They got in the car, they were from California, real nice people, and had a real nice conversation with them on the ride. Glad I didn't just keep going because they had drink cups.
Sorry, meant to reply to Krazy9000.The police can cite me for two people standing on the sidewalk sipping their drinks? Two people who never entered my car?
Don't think so.
OK...keep doing what you're doing. I've had to "eat crow" at least once on this forum and admit that I was wrong about something I said. Hopefully you'll do the same when your rating starts dropping. It's not very easy to get it back up once you have more than 500 trips completed.4.91. Still under 100, though. I've done it a few times with no rating repercussions. Like I said, tact is everything.
I know exactly what you mean. They smile at you and tell you they understand and it's no problem to drink or dump it, and then they stab you in the back.I used to agree with you then one weekend I happened to not get a single group with alcohol and my ratings were the highest ever. It doesn't matter how tactful you are, some riders are going to be jerks and low star you for refusing to break the law, even if they act ok with it at the time. You'll learn.
And you love it, don't you?Fixed that for you.
Whoa...Whoa! Way too much math for this Uber driver!!Every one star rating lowers your overall rating by .08. Fifty rides a week with one or two one stars a week means your rating will be .8-.1.2 lower over five hundred ratings. Even if you don't get deactivated it will hit your earning ability. If there are two drivers equal distance away Uber sends the request to the driver with the higher rating. Like I said, keep doing what you're doing but if your rating starts to drop try canceling these calls and see what happens.
I knew you'd be very proud of me!Good job.
How many trips have you completed?3 of them were already in the vehicle and saying okay sort of, it was akward to say the least, but I was as nice as I could be and they still wouldn't get over the fact that I didn't break the law for them. You can't satisfy everyone, but is okay since I still have a 4.98 overall and only 4-4 stars. At least they didn't go 3 or less:/
I've completed 1536 trips. Out of the 1200 rated trips, 1105 were 5-stars. Your overall rating will undoubtedly drop before very long and you will be slapped with at least a couple of issues. I've gotten 2 issues so far. 1 for "Mechanical" which I'm sure is due to my cracked windshield, which has no affect on the rider's experience during the trip and also an issue for "Attitude". One of the riders could probably tell that I was a bit irritated that they stunk up my vehicle with cigarette smoke smell because they were smoking just before they got into my van.228 trips with 175 - 5 stars, 4 - stars, and 14 - 5 star comments no issues reported.
