Not only is this bastard travis a trump supporter. But actions taken yesterday are having thousands of people delete their uber app. It seems that to show solidarity with the protesters at jfk yesterday yellow cabs didnt drive between 6-7. So uber suspends surges/boosts for that hour in and out of jfk. Angering alot of people causing them to refer to uber as scabs and call for an uber boycott.

This was Travis statement from yesterday:

Lyft's response from today is attached as a file.

I really admire Lyft's stance. Travis wrote a politically correct mumbo jumbo. Then again, he probably doesn't want to be at war with Trump.

If these bottom of the barrel companies ever cared about people, they wouldn't charge 35% commission, they know how low their drivers incomes are, but the don't give a sh!t. [email protected] Uber, Lyft, Juno and their owners and investors. I wish Trump closes these criminal enterprises soon.

Still too high in my opinion. Yellow cabs have 2 apps, one from Veriphone and one from CMT (those are the CC processing companies) and it's free of charge. They charge i believe 5% Cc processing fee.

With this said there is no reason these apps shud charge more than wat cmt and veriphone charge.

Yellow cabs have a lease and you need to keep paper. I think 10% is good enough and all I do is drive, click and go home. No dispatcher, cab with foreign particles, and dashboard lit up like Christmas on crack in engine issues.

I'm just saying that there is no reason TNCs shud charge more than Cmt and veriphone.

10% wub be good if we weren't also charged sales tax and bcf.

3% goes to credit card processing, roughly 1% goes to fraud / disputes, then there's the app development, overhead (employees, offices, etc), and marketing. And then there's the part where the company has to make a profit. I have said it before that even Juno, at 10%, is not sustainable long term and they will likely end up in the 15-20% range over time.

Why must we look for the bad in everything? What they save or deduct on taxes is their business - as is yours for your own taxes - the fact is Lyft did step forward and denounce these pathetic actions. Forget the donation, respect them for taking a stand in today's climate.

Don't say your giving something when it's just a show to sway people....give free Lyft Line calls to people from those 7 countries then I will I will give them respect...how about free call from women drivers to women who are wearing a hijab.......won't see that!!!
I disagree with yall who are condeming Uber. Uber is a corporation. what do corporations do? Make money. Corporations are not and should not be in the business of making political statements. So them continuing to operate is completely acceptable. I dont agree with them suspending surge, but it is understandable since the deficit of drivers was not due to market forces but due to drivers protesting.
Also do you guys not have sympathy for the innocent people? Do yall not understand that there are people just trying to go home after a long flight. Why should they suffer. Why should people, especially paying customers, have to be subject to your agendas? And that goes for all the people blocking the airport not just transportation employees preventing people from getting home.

That was just a marketing strategy on Lyft's behalf to take some drivers away from uber since 80% of drivers are Muslims, Lyft doesn't give A damn about us as well as Uber doesn't.

At Uber we've always believed in standing up for what's right. Today we need your help supporting drivers who may be impacted by President Trump's new immigration ban.

Drivers who are citizens of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria or Yemen and live in the US but have left the country, will not be able to return for 90 days. This means they won't be able to earn money and support their families during this period.

It's important that as a community we do everything we can to help these drivers. Here's what Uber will do:
• Provide 24/7 legal support for drivers who are trying to get back into the country. Our lawyers and immigration experts will be on call 24/7 to help.
Compensate drivers for their lost earnings. This will help them support their families and put food on the table while they are banned from the US.
Urge the government to reinstate the right of US residents to travel-whatever their country of origin-immediately.
• Create a $3 million legal defense fund to help drivers with immigration and translation services.
