wondering if anyone has seen Lyft or Uber guarantees for next week.
I didn't take any Lyft rides this week since they zipped me. Their pints are just too far to work them without guarantees.

Did not get a lyft guarantee email last night. Usually they are Friday nights. I did not change my lyft activity. I wanted to see apples to apples, so last night I drove only lyft, and resisted the urge to switch to uber when lyft was in a lull. Did not make as much as would with uber but that's before the guarantee payment. I don't think I'm going to be lyfting on the weekend nights anymore after I've gotten the signing bonus. Uber guarantees I usually get on Sundays but I only get weekend guarantees for Uber.

Its hard driving for Lyft without the guarantees.
I went to that Lyft meeting and cracked up when the local girl said, "don't think about it that way, think about the bigger picture". Bigger picture? "Yea, take the long runs and long wait times in between and more people will start using Lyft down the road". Um, I don't work to lose money.
I like Lyft with the tips and the suburban riders seem to be a little better/nicer than the Uber. Not sure why that is but it seems that way. But Uber will keep you moving and closer rides.

Do you see a lot of surge pricing when you're out on the weekdays or weekends?

Anyone receive the lyft opt in guarantee email this week? If so, I don't know why I didn't receive it I've kept a high rating and I drove my normal amount last week. Can someone please email it to me if you did receive it?

I didnt get it this week and I always got it. Im assuming we're back to juggling uber and lyft the next couple weeks until August when things pick back up in Michigan.

In other markets, Lyft has ended their guarantees. That could be happening here it sounds like.

None for me either. Since the guarantees are gone, I don't have to worry about the 90% acceptance rate.

Do you go for the 20% Power Drive? That's hard with Lyft unless you head downtown. I did the 10% a few times but when all said and done, it was only about $40. I know $40 is $40 but it just covered the extra gas I used to get to the 10%. I had to drive all night Friday and Saturday those weekends to get it. If rather do Uber surge of I can catch it.

I still have to do 20 more lyft rides to get the signing bonus I signed up for, hopefully, the pings won't slow down considerably as I get closer to the goal.

Yeah I got dinged on the long pickup last night. Dropped of pax in clinton township at about 1:40 am. Next ping is lyft plus from Royal Oak. As I'm getting close they cancel. Only silver lining is then I was in royal oak at 2:15 am and open. Cancellation fee helps a little, but not much.

And it doesn't matter if you're in the prime time zone if the only ping you get is 15 mins away (outside of PT). ARGH.

I didn't receive the AHG either after receiving it for this past week. And that comes on the heels of a letter I sent them the week before.

Their response to my inquiry about the criteria for receiving the AHG was that you would be new to Lyft and that was about it. I was advised to utilize the Power Driver Bonus since I was a more experienced (over 1,000 rides since January) and my vehicle met the age limitation (2011 or newer).

So yeah, it looks they are out have pulled AHG's from the Detroit market - for now.

I got them last night too. Not as good as they once were but still nice to have.

In the end, Uber will keep you busier. I was out last night and it was non-stop. For every ride I had I had a ping before the drop off. I had to pass a few up just to go to the bathroom. But I caught a few surge rides and had good distance rides.

Saturday night was hoppin for uber. Three times I had a drop off at 5th ave/woodys/otooles and didn't have to move the car for the next pickup. Surge all over town for most of the evening.

Pretty much the "Southeast Michigan Smile" - Downtown Detroit to DTW to Ann Arbor. But I stopped driving A2 four weeks ago because of the significant drop in demand. That area accounts for 900 rides. The last 200+ have been a mix of Waterford/West Bloomfield, Farmington Hills/Novi and Southfield/Detroit. Mix in
the intermittent DTW run and that's my range - about 150 to 200 miles a day.

They either have more people getting them or more drivers are opting in than before.
I did the math and the $20/$22 hours are borderline not worth doing. I've had too many $20 minute pick ups, do the tide and get pinged again for another $20 minute pick up in the same hour. I then roll into the next $20 hour and still need a ride in that hour to get the guarantee.
Uber pickups are a lot closer.
I know what you mean. Can't drive with Lyft without the guarantees tho.
