I accept this $15 at a small place I've served hundreds of time. Upon arrival the owner tells me that I'm the third GH driver showing up, and that the first one had taken the food half an hour ago. She's upset and so am I, especially because while I've seen this countless times on UberEats (they call this a "glitch" and do not compensate you any longer for it) I have never seen it in my region with GrubHub.
I call support and as always they are on the ball. The nice rep tells me that the second driver had not reported the problem. I tell her I'm pretty certain the driver stole the food, she checks to see if the food has been delivered - of course it has not - and she tells me that she agrees about food theft and that she's already started the process of "reporting this to the proper team" (most likely at HQ in IL, not in Bangladesh or wherever.) My $3 and change compensation shows up about 5 minutes.
Given the dearth of GH drivers in my area, this must have been the work of one of the few newbies who take the crap offers (now almost as bad as DoorDash.)
Curious to know if you guys have seen this with GH in your region.
