The Federal Government need to crack down on illegal workers.
Uber drivers who are here on student visas and are working more than 20 hours a week while their course is active are illegals.
Breach your visa at the risk of deportation.
State government transport bodies should be proactively checking partner details to cross reference with federal authorities.

Taxi drivers have been putting up with foriegn "student" visa holders flooding their industry and diluting their earnings for near 20 years now.

Often these "students" don't even attend the sham courses they're enrolled in, they just pay a bit extra to have their names ticked off at roll call regardless. (This to comply with the student visa rules.)

i have seen multi agency raids out at the tulla holding rank involving vicpol ,sheriffs, VTD (TSC) , centrelink, and immigration, TSC check the general vehicle upkeep and uniforms are being worn, sheriffs check random people for unpaid fines, centrelink head straight to the african drivers to check their credentials (I assume they are the ones most likely to be working off the books while on benefits) and immigration form a beeline to the indians, I've seen them nabbed then and there and taken away pending deportation. Leaving the empty taxi on the rank for the owner to hopefully find out about and come and collect, gawd i larfed..

Vicpol just make sure everyone complies with all the other agencys.
Since i was above board allround i woulda been tempted to tell them all to get F ucked if they approached me, but strangely enough i may aswell have been invisible to them all..
