I had accepted the ride (didn't start the trip yet) and I was waiting for the pax to arrive. A car hit me from behind and took off. Should I be covered by Uber's insurance because I ACCEPTED the ride already?
if you did not get the license plate of the other car it's not an accident you can prove. Uber would cover it or your uninsured motorist would cover it if you have the other drivers info... or at least a license plate.

Uber will cover it since you accepted the ride already (they cover from when you accept ride till you swipe end trip. It doesn't matter if passenger is in car or not). Dealing with James river/ uber insurance is a pain. In my experience They deliberately delay getting back to you in order to hint to you to use your personal insurance. Do not use personal ins! your rates WILL go up.

It might be painful but I would say cover this one yourself.

for a body shop I used bertolli's auto in San Rafael they got the repairs done so quick while everyone wanted me to make an appointment then bring the car later , it's in Marin though so not much of a deal lol however the owner runs the shop herself , she is so friendly and looks to be hungry for business

drop by and explain that you will be paying without insurance see if she can lower the worker's hourly fee cause that's where you pay a lot

Mm sorry hang in there ! I was hit too while waiting a few days back by clearly a tired uber driver with riders in the car , I looked her in the face realized she must have dozed off for a second and just told her not to worry about it ( hopefully I helped and she will take it as a warning)

Screw that you should get paid out by your insurance for that. Complain your neck hurts and you'll go to the doctor. Easy $$$

Back bumper a bit damaged.

Does anyone know of a good and reasonably priced auto body shop or person?

Dont really want to get my insurance involved. Thanks
I accidentally "modified" the bumper of Uber's Prius by backing into a fence post. It looked crooked and there was a small scrape in the paint. After a bash or two with the bottom of my fist, the bumper popped back into place, and I touched in the scuff with some model airplane paint.

Maybe you could get someone strong tp manhandle your bumper, so to speak. It might work, and if not you'll just be left with a bemt bumper, which is what you've got now.

I disagree. You can claim uninsured motorist even if you don't have a license plate. I did it 15 years ago when I was involved in a hit and run. Dude took off and insurance covered all my bills, a new car (it was totaled), and pain and suffering under uninsured motorist. Oh, and my rates DIDNT go up. It was $40,000 settlement, plus medical bills, plus a new car.

No sounds or anything while I drive. I atted a pic..
This shouldn't be too hard to fix. If it was me, I'd push the dent out from behind and see how it looked. It'd certainly be a lot better, but would not be perfect. You can use a hair dryer on plastic to get the final creases out.

You could look for a "paintless dent repair" shop - there are many all over the Bay Area. They would do something like this, which apart from the broken paint, is pretty much the same type of damage you have:

You've also got some paint damage, but it looks small enough that you could get away with using some touchup paint.

hopefully you won't listen to those guys who want you to do a claim it's not just about raising your premiums you have to worry about .

Uber only covers when the passenger is in the car.You should get your insurance involved since you were the only one in the car. They won't know you were driving for Uber unless you tell them. You should look into ride share insurance for the future. Its not expensive

What kind of bumper damage? Cosmetic? Does the bumper need to be replaced? I know a shop who would replace a whole bumper for 500..painted, installed, everything. Will probably be cheaper if it's just paint chips n such.
