Any Eats drivers on here? I got a promocode for a free meal up to $20 the other day and thought I'd give it a try. Absolutely terrible experience. Took just over 2 hours from the time I placed my order until when my pizza and wings showed up at my house. First, it took almost an hour from the time I placed my order to when I got a notification saying that the driver had picked it up and was on the way and I could watch him as he was driving to me on the map. He was in Georgetown and I live in Pentagon City. Should have been a quick 10 minute drive across the Key Bridge and then across in front of the cemetery. Instead he drove up Wisconson, across to Adams Morgan, down to Dupont, up to U St, then down 16th, constitution over to 66, and then to my house. Took over another hour.

Any idea what may have happened here? Do you guys deliver multiple orders at one time? Or could he have been picking up riders along the way? I'll probably never use it again if that's the standard wait time for delivery.

He probably took some pool rides during the delivery to maximize his earnings? :p

Yes they stack on us, my worst experience which seemed totally stupid but not the longest experience was at a fat burger on Santa Monica Boulevard,

I waited 15 minutes for a very small order, 1 cheeseburger 1 order of fries,

Plus about another 3 minutes to do the following:
I verified the order, I signed for it, put the two items in my red bag, walk to my car, started the trip, which of course notifies you that I the driver I'm on my way with your food, i was about to drive out of the driveway and I got a ping for another order,

From the same restaurant where I already am fat burger, this time it's a big order about 3 burgers 3 orders of fries 3 sodas, it took about 25 minutes for them to give me my food so I can once again to verify it signed for it to be on my way,

And guess which order I dropped off first you got it the second order, that was about a 12-minute Drive,

So now we're about five minutes short of one hour and the first person still does not have their food, luckily my drive to them was only about 5 to 7 minutes so a little over 1 hour for the first person to receive their food..

So if they had not added another order the first person would had got their food within 30 minutes..

This sounds pretty inefficient. Food is no good when it's cold. Everything Big Foober touches turns to feces.

I got my first UberEats delivery ping last night after leaving Nationals Park baseball game. It was some restaurant 15 minutes away.

ACRO, and the app even asked me why. I left it blank and still canceled.

Saying inefficient is an understatement, I could have very easily delivered the first order and I the same driver could have came back for the second order, both orders would have been delivered hot,

Of course that wouldn't be beneficial to uber, because uber charges a flat delivery fee to the customers, if I had a came back for the second order instead of taking it with me with the first order that would have meant I would have been paid more miles that would have meant less money for Uber,

I am an Uber Eats customer myself, I use Uber Eats Maybe once every week or two so this order really kind of pissed me off, I couldn't help myself but to sample one of the french fries to see just how bad it was it was totally cold..

Not complaining. Not by any stretch of the imagination compared to the rest of the crap on this forum. Just trying to get an idea of how it works and if it's worth my time to use it again or if there's going to be a 2 hour wait every time I use it. Got my answer too so thank you painfreedc. I'll just continue to use Grubhub/Postmates/Dominos App :)

I can tell you that when I drove for UberEats -- I follow the path that Uber provides for me on the app. I don't deviate from it -- even if there's traffic. I have arrived at a restaurant only have to wait 10-15 minutes because the food is not prepared/ready or the place is very busy. I have never taken 2 hrs from receiving the request to the delivery the food. If I had to take a guess, my average time on 'UberEats' order would be about 15-25 minutes.
