I was doing deliveries earlier this week; tried to sign on Thursday and it didn’t work. Later found a deactivation email.
I do know one thing though; UberEats pays SIGNIFICANTLY LESS. I miss my deliveries that pay almost as much as the food itself.
But yeah, they claim my background check came back and deactivated me for a case of “careless driving”.
Where it gets weird though is that my actual background check hasn’t had an infraction on it since 2017. The careless driving they are probably speaking of is from 2015.
Where it gets weird though is that DoorDash actually asked me about it back when I tried to sign up in 2018, and they signed me on after I explained it.
What gets weirder is that I was in a freak accident last year during Labor Day weekend that put me in the hospital. I received two tickets in the process (one for careless driving) but I eventually got both of them dismissed. Could Checkr potentially see that and report it anyways? And if they did, why is it not in the background check?
Checkr also does background checks for Uber and Lyft, and those came back identical. And yet Uber and Lyft haven’t said anything about this.
Either way, I’m fairly upset despite submitting an appeal; I don’t even want to think about how much I’ve missed out on during this Easter weekend. I know it’s not really under my control, but it’s still frustrating.
