Bad news for Uber lovers. There is a God after all.

Uber is definitely not worth 62 billions but they better pay my claim.

Let's hope we get some holiday pay and sick pay too
Its great to bash Uber and Pimlico and the like and its great that some people might get something for nothing in the short term - a most pleasant surprise for you.

Looking at the bigger picture: Do you really think Uber etc are going to allow you to come and go as you please and still draw employment benefits?

Be careful with workers rights because its a 2 way street - the worker gets some benefits but the Company is going to want something in return - more commitment, less flexibility, not being able to log on the app if there is sufficient supply of drivers, lower rates etc. Anyone who thinks Uber (or anyone else) is going to guarantee you minimum wage and employment benefits for driving to and from work, declining jobs and canceling rides is in cloud cuckoo land.

Just my opinion but I think we're in danger of slipping into minimum wage servitude with this worker rights thing.

We will all be on minimum wage and not a penny more and they will exercise much more control and restrictions on what we can and cant do.

Why on earth arse lick the company that has destroyed the minicab industry (with your help)
The partners are already slavishly working for buttons and working incredibly unsocial hours(flexibility) for flat ratte peanuts! And ridiculous amounts of hours too.
If someone wants a claim then good luck to them. You don't want a claim and want to work crazy hours for buttons then good luck to you.
Imagine Uber not allowing partners log on if there's sufficient supply to cover demand. What would it matter? You're self employed so can work anywhere and anytime you like. That's what Uber say so what's not to like? You're not employed so no worries.

Indeed I am and I do a bit of Uber alongside working with other operators.

Like I say good luck to those who want to be Uber 'workers' or Uber employees but I dont want worker or employee status imposed on me. If I wanted to be employed I would go and get a job (probably not driving).

As for destroying the minicab industry with my help, I've been around a long time and there is a long history of drivers undercutting established market rates. Long before Uber came along. Take a look at some of the rates on Kabbeet. Then take off 12% commission for Kabbee and 20-25% for the operator and see what you're left with. There is a lot worse than Uber out there.
