Good Morning from North DFW

Good morning everyone, just got into ridesharing with both Uber and Lyft; so much to learn but so far I'm enjoying driving. I get a lot of UberX/XL airport runs in my area of Far north Dallas (Frisco, Little Elm, McKinney, The Colony, Denton, and the 380 corridor. Works great for me as I normally commute to and around the DFW Airpot area to my normal job. 3 days in(3 hours a day) and 9 trips I've earned about $240 after Uber's cut and gas. I drive a 2010 Ford Flex. Looking forward to picking up tips from everyone and engaging in all the great discussions I've read so far.

I am new as well. And hope to start making airport runs just as soon as I get all the needed forms completed. I am in the mid cities area. I work 2-10 pm at my full time job with part time pay. Any tips would be helpful. Thanks.

You certainty arent doing that with UberX runs. You running XL exclusively? because isnt your rate like 85cents a mile and basically free per minute in Dallas?
3 out of the 9 were XL, I live out on 380 between Denton, Little Elm and Frisco most trips to DFW or DAL are around 30 to 35 Dollars, also on my way home I work off of Freeport Pkwy and have a lot of riders heading toward North Dallas off of Preston near UT Dallas. Got stuck off Greenville ave in Uptown last Saturday for 4 hours trying not to deadhead back home (40 miles) I'd get to I-635 and bam someone wanted to go back to the area. Lastly for some reason the last couple of days I've had at least 1 rider each day want to do multiple stops to run errands or pick up their children/and Friends. So after 10 days, 33 trips and $554.23 in earnings for about 30 hours of work comes out around $18 per/h not bad for a part time gig.

and you're doing this at 85cents/mile? unbelievable
not to mention u have to be putting hundreds and hundreds of miles on your vehicle
My normal commute is about 80 miles round trip so I'm already putting at least 400 miles a week just going to my normal full time job, I work literary 5 miles from DFW and around 20 miles from DAL. So far I've only run up and additional 200 or so doing Uber. My SUV is paid off and has already had the biggest hit of of depreciation with age and already had 100,000 plus miles on it before I started uber. Lastly Uber XL is $1.35 per/m and $0.20 per min in Dallas area.
