Got this email back from Uber in reply to my email about missing trip:

Due to an tech issue on Friday, August 21, some trips ended early and others were unable to begin.

We are adjusting all trips affected by this incident in the next 48 hours. The updated fare will show on your Partner Dashboard and in-app earnings.

If you continue to have issues after 48 hours, please select the trip and tap "I didn't begin or end the trip on time" to provide more details.

We know how frustrating these incidents can be and are very sorry for the trouble this caused you. We appreciate your patience.

I'm missing a trip from tonight. Totally new type of error occurred when I tried to end the trip. I took time to stop and note the specifics. Despite all the headaches it was still the highest demand I've experienced in a weekend (with constant surges) in LA in a while.

I have to laugh when I see the surge red zone extending out well into the ocean. How far do I have to propel my boat-car into the pacific for that 3.5 ping? Which wave are you floating near? I have had some that took 16 hours to show up. They know they're there. Don't sweat it. Get out there and get some of those surge rides
