It doesn't work like that.

If you do this - a large percentage of drivers going offline to cause surge to increase, then as soon as those drivers (eventually) go back online to get a ping, the surge immediately goes back down again. All you're doing is wasting time to get back to where you started.

The only winners in this scenario is if everyone goes offline, and then a FEW people stay online and snake the higher surge from everyone else. Ironically, the people who go OFFLINE are the idiots here.

Also, as the well experienced driver you are, I'm sure you've learned by now that a higher surge is not better. There is a sweet spot between 1.1x and 2.0x where people will still request rides.
You are wrong my friend I have been driving for a long time and I am telling you your theory is ok but isn't profitable. I drive 5 to 6 hours on weekend nights and I make 150 to 200 on a good night but never less then 150 in 5 hours considering I go offline around 1:40am.

You didn't actually explain how I'm wrong.
