I am a regular Uber passenger in the Moonee Valley area, and I have noticed a significant inequality with drivers who work in my region of Melbourne.

I have only once been picked up by a female driver out of over 50 trips. This is highly unfair that these driving jobs are only going to males, the logical solution would be for Uber to have 50/50 gender quotas for driving jobs ;)

It might not be popular with the type of conservative males who vote for the Liberal Party, but think about the other half of the population who are being discriminated against here. But on another front, it is good to see that racial diversity has been strongly embraced by Uber :)

Your post is right out of Hillary Clinton's playbook. That play book did not play well with the voters and your post is not going to play well here either

Yulli, in all the posts of yours that I have read, I don't think that I have agreed with your views once. On this occasion, I will happily make an exception :)

Australia is different that the United States, but here in the USA, a lot more dames are less inclined to want to go out driving alone at night picking up strangers. As a result, many more drivers are men.

When I was driving Yellow Cab 25 years ago, only about 4 gals were cab drivers out of 500, and only 1 drove at night..

Ill let you in on a secret. Uber makes it very hard for women to join. That is the real reason why women arent on the platform, not the fact they dont want to do it
I find that a very surprising claim.
Pray tell - how do they make it difficult, why would they want to and what evidence do you have?
I would think that they would love to have more female drivers.

Ps - Hilary was in Melbourne for a Love-In speaking engagement with the forgettable Julia Gillard this week.
5000 fans worshiping.

This is the kind of thing that needs to be exposed. There is absolutely no reason why there should be more males than females in any job.

The best way for Uber to equalise the gender ratio in Melbourne would be to cease hiring male drivers until 50% of drivers are female; from there onwards drivers should be hired in accordance with maintaining the 50-50 split.

From a racial diversity point of view, Uber is going well in Melbourne, but if it ever starts to become more homogeneous then people born overseas and from non-English speaking backgrounds should be prioritised for driving positions ;)

Hillary Clinton is the president that most of the US public want. Donald Trump only stands up for rich white males; Hillary stands for equality of all races and genders ;)

Well Barry, mooning around Moonee Ponds and Moonee Valley as your alter ego Dame Edna is not the most appropriate way to engage with our fabulous female drivers.

The word has got out man! You're a cross dresser! Your account has been flagged and waving around your 'gladdie' as you call it, has frightened a lot of the girls off. And who would be surprised?

Our fabulous female drivers are not looking for some gender confused florist in a frock. They are after the real deal. A man who is not afraid to be a man.

I suggest you stick with cabs.

This kind of absolute sexism is what needs to be stamped out. There is absolutely nothing stopping women from doing any job that males can; just last week I flew home from Brisbane on a plane with two female pilots ;)
How is NeilWhite going?
