Instead of cancelling on rides -- and risk deactivation -- that cause me to earn less than minimum-wage (commute turns out to be longer than the final destination), now I just drive away without cancelling and switch over to Uber.
The passenger calls and calls to find out what's going on, but it's easy to block the number and move on with my day.
As a result, they get delayed, have to request another ride, and Lyft gets what it wants -- less than minimum-wage service.
Everybody wins!
