Many Uber drivers in Australia are now eligible for fuel discounts at 450 Caltex service stations across Australia. See https://www.uber.com/en-AU/drive/resources/momentum-caltex/.

Not all drivers are eligible for these discounts at this stage. This seems to be another example of a randomised controlled trial.

The discounts are provided through the Momentum program. Those at the bronze level receive a discount of 4 cents a litre; silver 5 cents a litre; gold 6 cents a litre; and platinum 8 cents a litre.

The discounts are available on regular, diesel and Vortex premium fuels.

You can obtain the discounts up to two times a day.

The Caltex service station next to Costco already matches Costco's fuel prices while the Costco fuel station is open. If the Uber discounts are available there, drivers will have access to very competitively priced fuel.

The Caltex service station next to to the Vibe Hotel at the airport also already has low prices.

Do any Canberra drivers already have access to these discounts? I don't yet.

Look like it is another random job ! just found this. It has yet to find its way to my App as well.

Thanks, Namloot. That link includes the following important statement:

'To ensure the smooth rollout of the Caltex fuel offer, we have made this offer available only to an initial roll-out group. If this offer is popular, we expect to roll out this offer to all partners before 30 June 2017. In the roll out period, it will not be available for everyone'.

Mr Malarkey are you aware of this web page:-

Or how about this app.

https://motormouth.com.au/

If you want it, search Motormouth on the app store. It is free.

I have this app and it allows users to update the price of fuel, so it is constantly being kept current.
Thanks, Kah Chere. I fill up at Costco as I find it's always 15 to 20 cents a litre cheaper than nearly all other fuel stations in the Canberra area.

After dropping off a passenger at the airport, I head to the nearby Costco and top up my tank provided it's not more than 75% full. These days, I rarely buy fuel anywhere else.

I may move to the adjacent Caltex once I gain access to the Uber Momentum discounts.

I tried redeeming the fuel discount today, and after the operator scanned my phone, it said I was not eligible for discount. I had received an email from uber last week stating that I was elible.....grrrr.

GT Nut, I'd head into the Fyshwick office tomorrow or on Friday and take this up with Alex or Jess. They're always welcoming and helpful.
