I disagree with the new city grouping system on this forum, & find it outrageous & offensive!

Cleveland/Akron should be part of the NorthEast not the MidWest. Please vote in the poll & bring positive change to the community.

I used to make that argument a lot when I first moved to Clevekand 30 years ago. As evidence I cited St Louis as the gateway to the Midwest.

Then I saw Case Western Reserve University. Lol

I'm losing sleep over this every night.
I agree, it's completely outrageous. We all have enough stress avoiding potholes, hoodrats, poverty, crumbling infrastructure, & the highest water bills in America(Akron). To be mis categorized just adds insult to injury.

Hopefully, after enough votes are obtained, our sub forum representative @Michael - Cleveland will be able to take the results to forum leaders, & have the necessary changes made so we are represented in a positive & correct manner.

Ohio is not part of the Northeast. That would be Maine, New York, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, etc. We are the Mid-West.

Yes, please ask Michael of Cleveland to redraw Ohio into the area that is currently New England. We'll wait.

Ohio is CLEARLY in the MidWest. Not sure why this is even a thing.

Good lord...look at a map of USA. Draw a line down the middle of the map. Then look at it and study it with a compass. The direction of our cities & position are North East from the Mid West. It's not as far north east as NE ffs, but it is still North East of the middle of the country. Pittsburg is listed in the NorthEast & its southeast of Cle/Akron.

You can argue this as much as you'd like. A simple Google search will prove you wrong.

A google search? Lots of things can be found on a google search that are not factual. So unless you are one of those 'alternate fact types' that believe up is down & down is up, here is a picture of a map of the USA. Cle/Ak are clearly in the NE of the USA. Ohio is part of the Eastern time Zone. The picture is irrefutable evidence that Cleveland & Akron belong in the North East grouping.

I had to laugh when you posted this. Growing up in Ohio I always thought it was wrong that we were grouped in the Midwest states.

LOL. You cherrypicked one of the few maps that doesn't even show the MidWest.

If you Google "MidWest", you'll see you're wrong.

That ends my contribution to this "argument". This is simple geography. Don't overthink it.

Thats a standard map of the continental US. It shows every state. Cle/Ak are in the northeastern quarter of the continental US & in the eastern time zone.

By your flawed logic using that beautifully colored map, Florida is part of the North East too.

Wow, you need some glasses, it says SE in that quarter of the map. Matter of fact the whole map has all the directions. N,S,E,W, NE, SE, NW, SW. You have you no sense of direction, can't read a compass, or a map lol.

Actually, Ohio was considered the West during colonial day! So consider ourselves lucky!
I understand the historical aspect, this is a directional argument.

Really? Got maps posted and have 7 votes saying Cleveland/Akron/Canton in the midwest! Too many trump supporters drinking that kooloaid, not caring about facts, look at the map of the USA! WE ARE NOT MIDWEST!
