"On a bright and windy day last summer, while working on some updates to Uber's driver payment system, Mike#2 proposed an idea which to me seemed as unfair to the drivers. It would block the payments to the driver if a customer complained about the ride before a ride ends. Fortunately, this never made it into the app. When we were brainstorming this idea, I openly spoke up against it. I told them that it was unethical to block a driver's payments without researching the complaint to make sure it was the driver's fault. ....So, if a payment is blocked because of a customer complaint, the drivers may go home without the pay they need to feed their families. When I voiced my concern, Mike#2 looked at me and said "There is no place for ethics in this business sweetheart. We are not a charity."

So, there you go, your benevolent Uber overlords are busy trying to give drivers more money... suuuure!

He thinks we're all deluded, believing Uber wants to give us more money. Why, idk. I **** everyone believed they want to take it away when possible, and that somehow it's all a scam, even tho I've been paid fr 3 years.

There are P&L charts on the internet of what Uber paid operators in 2014,2015 & 2016 as a COGS and as a percentage. Let me know me which way that has been continuously going...

Not all of us for sure... but some keep thinking that Uber is so dumb and simple and just wants to lose money and offers the best......e.g.:

'I appreciate your theory as well , however there is just one question I have. Why ? Uber does not make money unless the driver makes money . It does not make that much of a difference to dispatch Pax based on such complicated criteria.... Uber is obviously not concerned with profit at this point . That's why they offer the biggest driver referral bonus in the industry . They offer the best guaranteed surge . They offer a very reasonable PDB with no peak ride requirement . That guy is a minority opinion holder here. He also believes the ping conspiracy theorizing just began in October. He's kind of shilly. Not totally, but kinda. "Biggest in the industry."? What planet.....I mean, The Industry??? Like Uber & Lyft. Is that the industry? Best of 2?

What planet y'all from? Uber hasn't profited a single CENT in its entire history.... it's burning through VC seed money to drive all competition out of business and salt the earth for all expensive for hire services in the future, in preparation for "The Arrival" (of the super duper uber AV --- for which, of course, driving safely and legally from A to B as ordered is just the first of many yet-unresolved challenges)

All because Travis wants to lord it over a worldwide chimaera that's half Metropolitan Bus System, half SkyNet (and ~all~ nefarious)
