My original UBER car broke down and it's took me this long to get another car. I need to find a job, having this time off from UBER with more than a year of working every week, has made me realize I miss real human people and not people you see for 2 minutes and drop off never to see again.

Being a taxi driver/uber driver has to be the loneliest job in the world. Ready to have co workers I see every day again, even though that was the reason I quit my day job last time.

I actually really enjoy the social aspect of Uber. One of the coolest things about the gig is making single serving friends and not have to worry about keeping up appearances. I HATE the business world with its phony atmosphere, everyone walking on eggshells or kissing ass to get ahead. That's not to say I will call some drunk pax out on their bullsh!t, but it's nice to have conversations with people that don't have to worry about what you will think of them tomorrow. You get a lot of real talk with passengers that I only have the pleasure of experiencing with good friends.

That being said, even though I've boned well with many pax, been invited out, or exchanged numbers, nothing has come out of it. Once that door closes it's game over, so I can understand where you're coming from. I'm a loner though, so I dig it! Good luck on the job!

Oops! Boned=vibed. Haha. Autocorrect, I swear!

you always want what you don't have bro. remember that.

my first job I worked with 10-15 employees, got sick of people and started working security to be alone.

started working security, got sick of being a lone and found a job where I wanted to work with people.

now I do a mix of both. looking to get out of ubering ASAP though it just aint worth it. gotta do what you gotta do though.

I think u were missing the social life. Seeing coworkers everyday gets tiresome. Only so much u can greet them everyday...."hi bob.....hi Mary".

I guess I have it pretty good.

At my W2 security job, I have a small group of very laid back co-workers (technically employees of the entity that pays my security company to have me out there) that I can shoot the breeze with. If I want random, strange conversation, I crank up a passenger service when I'm off duty in my car. If I'm really tired of people, it's time to do EATS or Postmates.

I thought you were a bartender now? You were telling us how you were in school (which I explained was a waste of money)
It's been quite some time, you should be done and making all that $$$ you said you would be.
