I have received this email today. Wonder if it is just me or others have...

I have seen threads here where it is implied that most of you have had this feature for a long time:

Now, twice per day, you can let us know where you’re driving and will only receive requests for trips along a similar route. Go online and tap the clipboard icon in the top corner of your screen to set your destination.

It’s easier than ever to earn a few more fares on your way home.

Yep been around for a while now, went live in Melbourne early June.

My 90%+ is eats so this feature does not help me in any way.

This is a great feature.

I used it on Saturday night and got a fantastic pickup 7 minutes away. The job was completed in 1 minute and I took them 800M. I was ecstatic with my $4.80 payout.

$4.80 more than you would have if you logged out and went home.... If you think about it, its a pretty good payment for the work done. 1 min travel time, and short distance. So what, nearly $1/min?

Now if I could repeat that all the way home from the city to Ringwood.... I would be MEGA RICH!

I did used last night i was in Fitzroy got job from Fitzroy to Crown on way home then over the bridge empty home
Also one night on way home from city got ping from footscray to Brooklyn it works may not be all the way home but better than nothing

Well the idea is ON THE WAY, not TO that place... Something is better than nothing on the way home and certainly better than going offline driving empty or getting a job heading in the WRONG direction :/

I just received it today and one of the few things that Uber have done that will actually help our life. Sure it will probably have us staying online longer than we have done so win, win!

No email here, but popped up in the partner app as a message. Its a good feature and win/win for both Uber and drivers. This way Uber can keep MORE drivers online longer.

I for one am happy with the feature.

Worked perfect this morning got a $33 fare and in the evening got a nice $7.50 fare hah

It's useful for me though. I donmt want to have my final Eats dropoff for the day in Balaclava or Malvern...

So it is applying to Eats as well? If so then am going to use it for sure. That will be super useful.

Obviously Uber need to tweak it to allow reasonable distance in your directions say over 4k's but many of you drivers have difficulty understanding costs and time, this should be a useful feature.
I got the same thing when I was in the limo industry guys would knock back $55 city to airport jobs because they were cheap although they had a pickup in the Airport one hour later.
