So Lyft sent me a ping to the middle of a muddy field with no roads. The pax would not respond to calls or texts.
Support said no cancel fee because I did not drive to the pickup point. This after three hours and five support techs.

I’ve had it. This was just another straw on the back of the camel

I logged out in the middle of bar rush. No other drivers in town.

Why waste all your time on it though? Shit, stuff like this happens three times a night sometimes. If I can't get to pax easily I just cancel and drive off. A quick "I've arrived" text and if they can't find me within 3 minutes, tough.
If I have a pick up on a narrow, high traffic or congested street, and the pax is not toe-to-curb, they get an immediate cancel. I am not going to sit there and risk a ticket, being sworn and honked at or blocking the flow of traffic when there's another ping available within seconds.

I will also not drive around the block until the entitled a-hole decides they are ready to be picked up. Pax who request rides, when they are not ready to go, are usually the worst to deal with and rarely ever tip. At least this has been true of my experience in the Mecca of the Entitled.

Cancellations in situations like that is one of the reasons I refused to do long pickups when I did rideshare. Gas and time get wasted in situations like that.

You sometimes have to walk to the pickup point and collect the cancel fee.
