How can names like in the pic be allowed? There is another thread going about picking up minors and some advocate checking ID’s. What’s the point if Uber let’s them use nicknames. I’ve had pax that used symbols instead of letters, and another guy use “my Johnson”. It was funny hearing the navigation say, “pick up my Johnson on the left”. What say you?

Would you feel better getting robbed or shot by Jonathan?

What if Jonathan's real name was David?

How would you even know Jonathan wasn't his real name?

I'm fine with people using fake names, especially on lyft. Makes it easier to decide whether to accept/cancel the ride.
Cool. If you get killed the cops will go looking for “my Johnson”. Good luck!

I wouldn’t do a ride with some knucklehead that has "my Johnson" as their name.

My point is, If Mr. My Johnson, whose real name is Richard, had his ne listed as John , how does that make you safe?

The stupid names let you know ahead of time that the pax is someone you probably don't want in your car.

Until lyft & uber require riders to have an ID in file, it really makes no difference what ne they use. AND, if they have the pax ID on file, it still doesn't matter what name they use because their real identity is linked to the account.

Then why can’t I use Rampage as my driver name if it’s no big deal? What’s good for the goose…

There are different rules for you the worker and the pax, the customer.

That said, I agree.

My legal name is shown on my profile with my preferred name in parentheses , like this
Rohit (@Boca Ratman).
I'd prefer it just showed @Boca Ratman as there are only a few people named Rohit in my city and if prefer to remain as anonymous to the pax as possible. However, I'm told that it's a legal requirement to have my legal name listed. Not sure I buy that explanation but it is what it is.

Holden McGroyn and Miles O'Toole were definitely favorites. I don't blame pax for using fake names, we are pretty creepy after all. Well, not me, but certainly the rest of you. In any case, in the event of any crime, the police would look for the real name associated with the credit/debit card transaction.
My old lady likes me creepy an weird:sneaky:

The way you readjust your rear view mirror with your female pax says otherwise.
I do not re-adjust the mirror, it is already positioned to keep a close eye on the attractive female pax (for safety reasons). Regardless, I usually ask them to sit up front (obviously, only the attractive females). Anyhow, everything is captured on dash cam so I can review later to ensure that I am complying with all the safety regulations (for attractive female pax). Nothing creepy about any of that.

I agree. However mounting your dash cam on the glove compartment door may be crossing the line, in some people's minds.

Camera on on the glove box, rear view mirror pointed at the chest of the individual on the right hand side of the....you guys need to grow up. Christ, haven't you guys learned anything?

Hidden lipstick cams underneath the seat and underneath the glove compartment way back up in there are not very well easily seen.

This thread is reason #102 why I’d never take an Uber. Don’t want some creepy driver putting a hidden camera on the interior roof and seeing down my shirt.
You really can't hide cameras on the interior of a roof of a car. Unless it's inserted into something that is actually practical or reasonably acceptable for that item to be there. Not too many items are on the top of the roof of a car because there's really no need for anything. Even your lights that are mounted on the ceiling are usually clear see-through glass so there's really no way to hide that lipstick camera.

That's why it's best to put them under the seat way back up underneath there and where you really can't see unless you kind of scooch down a little bit. So the view that you would get would be not of the breast area but more of the crotch area on entry.

What I just know stuff!

Actually some cars still have dome lights on the interior roof one could be put. Now they make very small video recording devices, think of nanny cams, that many wouldn’t see.

So if a pax with a crazy fake name, like Kill’a murders you in your car, your undetectable device would help solve your murder.
