The Craiglist ad for Tulsa says I'll earn "up to" $660 a week driving for Uber.

If I took a week off my day job and logged in 23 hours a day (only logging off to take a shower/eat/etc and sleeping in the car between rides), how many days do you think it'll take me to hit $660? lol

I'm guessing you'll average $5 per hour. So my guess is 33 hrs. That of course, is what you'll earn, which is far different than actual profit after expenses. Uber's target market, with these ads, is directed towards people who don't know the difference.
Or 66 trips with an average of $10 per trip, less $66 for safe rider fee and $118.80 Uber fee = $465.20

If I make $5 per hour, I would have to work 132 hours to make $660. So 5.5 days without a single minute logged out. As a comparison, miminum wage would be $957 for that same time frame, and without gas/maintainence expenses or overtime. lol

The thing is, when minimum wage workers talk about how much they make, they never subtract THEIR expenses either. Bus fare, parking, Uber rides, gas, washing their uniform, taxes, etc.

Actually, salaried folks don't do it either. They pull in $60k a year, but how much is it after commuting, day care, wardrobe, lunches, taxes, etc.? How many of them know that amount down to the dollar per hour?

Wouldn't it also depend on whether you are an uberX or uberSUV driver? The rates are much different.
No! Your operating expenses are higher for an SUV and Uber takes a high commission cut from SUV drivers I think at present its %28. They just raised the Uber X comission rate for new drivers from %20 to %25. Do you think the SUV rate increase is far behind an increase? It really doesn't, matter what Uber level your driving at it's a scumbag company that takes advantage of people who can't or don't do the Uber scam math. Go to the "quit" forum on this site and read for yourself.

I can do that working 10 hrs a day. I think I can reach $700 if I work an extra hour a day.

I think part of the earnings issue is when and where you are online. I was online during the day this week, and did better than Saturday night. My average fare during weekdays is higher than weekends.

They're not much different. At least in the Tulsa market. I net about .60 more per mile for XL...and I haven't done the math inawhile. Honestly...I'm an advocate for rideshare, but I hate Uber's business practices.
