Uber has removed the "express pool" notification and just put "pool".

Sneaky Uber, they know we don't like express pool so they are trying to fool us.

Yesterday, I tried to give regular Uber-Pool a chance, (so many requests I had to try again), twice after accepting it said "express pool" sorry I cancel.

Well, no pool again. Time to look for another job.

Here we go again.WHY are you guys accepting Pool? You complain non-stop about it but you still accept it.If the majority of drivers refused then the paxes would go to X.Only the dummy drivers do that crap.
Dear sir,

This forum is replete with comments similar to yours regarding the distastefulness of accepting pool riders.

Might i suggest you take a day to drive in broward county? You see, there are no surges here. There are no boosts. There are no quests.

Many times, there are no customers to be had.

Many of the x rides here are $2.50.

You are entitled to your opinion. After all, besides porn, isn't that why the internet exists?

However, until you do x and poo only as many of its ants do here in broward, your entreaties will continue to fall on deaf ears.

Pool is minimally different than x in terms of payout. On any ride less than 20 miles the difference is never more than $2 and most times significantly less than that. Considering that 98% of all uber rides are less than 20 miles, it's much adieu about nothing.

As for quality of the pax, i discern little difference between the humanity possessed by x riders and poos.

In most cases, neither tips and are people i would never consider worthy of knowing.

The attached chart shows how much is uberX over uberPool/expressPool based on distance (mi.) of trip and average speed (to determine time of ride).

So if you were to travel at 1 mph on a Pool ride you pretty much would be paid 16% less than if it was uberX. With a maximum difference of 18%. But hardly any ride will average a speed of 1 mph.

Short trips in areas with high traffic, may average 10-15 mph. The longer the trip, the expectation will be that the average speed will increase since you will probably will take a highway, expressway, or similar. So at higher average speeds, the uberX will pay 12% more than an uberPool/expressPool.

Also, note that Pool rides will PAY MORE for trips less than 3 miles depending on the average speed than uberX; since the minimum for uberX = $2.47 vs. $3.25 for Pool. So short rides, could pay 10%-30% more on Pool than on uberX for average speeds of 10-15 mph; I will not assume a higher average speed for a short trip above 15 mph for obvious reasons.

Of course, adding the 2nd+ riders it means all profit to Uber so you can take the cut in fare and ignore additional added riders or inconvenience pool riders by taking the additional riders in hope they will never request Pool.

Hope the chart is entertaining and helps you decide if Pool is for you or not or when is best to use Pool to your advantage; e.g. DF on or just getting a ride to get out of an area instead of driving dead-miles.

Garbage in garbage out. Your chart is ridiculous. Simply put . If it’s Express Pool cancel. In Miami and Broward they are mostly drunks, prostitutes or junkies and forget about a tip. They are also more demanding and often have poor hygiene.
Pool is really not bad because the more passengers the better. Many times a pool turns into a $20 fare.

for a pool to turn into a $20 fare you need to do a lot of driving.......and time.....no thanks.....

yesterday I took a guy and wife to FLL and he confessed to be a part time driver....doing mostly Uber 100 % acceptance and taking all the pools..... I told him to look at all the pool rides and see what he's earning per mile and time wise by the hour.....as a part timer he was just happy to get rides......I told him I never do pool...I take lyft and shared lyft rides because by doing 200 rides a month I get platinum status which gives me 50 cents off a gallon gas and on incoming requests I can see the ride time....so like today I saw a request from Atul 4 minute away and estimated time of ride 3 minutes...so I didn't accept.....just a few of the reasons I prefer left to uber....I really like seeing the estimated time of the ride....

Uber hides the fact that a poo ride is an Express poo until after you pick them up. The only way you know in advance is when they tell you to pick someone up at a corner.

I got downgraded by an Express poo yesterday because she wasn't where she was supposed to be and I didn't know she was an Express poo.

X or poo. They both suck.

I dropped off a Lyft at Publix and waited for him for him or next request. Got 3 pool pings a minute away and ignored each. Saw 2 of them standing and waiting. Ya ha. About 3 more minutes got an $8 lyft ride. It pays to ignore pool.

If it's a $20 fare, Uber is making double that off you

It's amazing people are still doing pool rides

I started accepting Pool today to see for myself.

I had one today with 2 riders so here's a breakdown:

Riders paid: $19.09 + $2 tip = $21.09
I received: $18.98
Uber received: $2.11

Here's a shorter one with 1 rider:

Rider paid: $4.89
I received: $4.66
Uber received: $0.23

Now here's an Uber X ride of similar distance to the previous one:

Rider paid: $8.16
I received: $3.83
Uber received: $4.33

Honestly, Uber seems to be making more off of me for Uber X rides. I agree with the person on here who said you get more with Pool if it's a shorter ride.
If anyone can show what the breakdown for Express Pool looks like, I'd be interested in seeing that as well.

On this one are they showing both rides?

Typically what they show you is the billing of one full ride plus the extra miles you did for the other.

When 2 riders are in the car they charge each rider full fares to where ever they are going and pay the driver for the single fare with any extra miles you may go with the 2nd rider.

In simple terms

Two pool trips $10 and $12 this went two miles out more. (using $1 per mile as an example only)

Uber pays the driver based on the miles driven for the $12 But will bill $22 to the riders in a sense Uber pocketed $12 less the 2 extra miles driven.

That is why Uber is pushing pool so much we do twice or 3 times the work and they make a killing

If you are not seeing this, then they are paying you their share of the pool rides to keep a new driver happy. Uber does that since so many stop driving after a few rides. Once you get "hooked" as as steady driver, they will start with the above.
