Via's been doing the same thing for a year or two already. Nothing new. I've had several PAX indicate the use VIA during rush hour and Uber other times. Uber obviously doesnt want any penny lost to any competitor. One app to rule them all.

That's correct, you lose the mileage pay for driving to pick up 2nd or 3rd pool passengers. It keeps driver pay down which decreases costs for Uber.
