I used simpleselfhire out of Dagenham for 4 months, the manager is name is Billy and a top bloke, they are flexible when it comes to being short and they treated me well tbh. £250pwk 900miles pwk new kona electric but they seem to have a host of other cars(Excess is £750 which is not cheap, £500 refundable deposit )

Hire a very cheap second hand car for around three months. After that buy your own car.

As with all contracts, read carefully in its entirety!

This is especially true when going down the subprime route.

Your contract will likely differ from those of earlier years, so “reviews” should be taken with a pinch of salt.

Also, considering the advances of in-car CCTV systems of late, I’d actually recommend avoiding such vehicles in favour of fitting your own TfL approved “dash-cam”.

But that’s only if you intend to drive anyone important enough for data and privacy to be a concern.

Reviews aren’t worth much IF they are solicited.

They are worth even less if duplicates are permitted.

Companies know people trust other people so it’s a veritable no-brainer to encourage staff to solicit as many positive reviews as necessary to tip the headline rating.

They ALL do it fellas. It’s just sooooo much easier to detect in the subprime sector for some reason.

Nothing personal, just cold hard merciless business.
