I did several jobs last night in central where the heat map was surging and yet none of the jobs surge was applied. Uber said no dynamic pricing was in effect at the time when queried, but the heat map showed I was in the middle. Not on the edge or dragged away from it but smack bang right in the heat map. What is going on!?

The map only shows surge for x/xl .Exec is different...you get surge maybe isf the x/xl more than 2x...

It's hard to ignore but you have too, I turned down a job on the basis of it surging. Checked how many drivers, there were and no surprise a lot in that area, so all bull.

Unless it's a genuine busy weekend or an event just ignore it and just keep earning or you lose out.

Use another phone to discover that there isn't any actual surge

There probably is surge but the jobs before surge need to be covered?

I have been in surge taken non surge and next job was surge, so go figure.

I had two phones one with the jobs one running the driver app. I was in the surge zone on exec running to jobs in the surge, allocating before dropping , showing on the second phone I’m in exec surge but none of the jobs came down surged. Never seen it before in 5000 trips. No dynamic pricing active at the allocation time Uber said but I could see it with my own eyes. Odd.

Some months ago I asked uber why we are getting non surge jobs in an area that's been in surge for a while, they said it's a known issue.
On today's shift, the surge map was not showing surge, despite that I got surge jobs.

A surge can not take place in an area when this area has a lot of drivers,

Then is a well documented issue, none of us get surge jobs when we are offline either.

the screenshot is a second phone while allocated on the primary phone with a non surge job picked up in the area of surge.
