Hi everyone,

I bought a car on Saturday 2016 Diesel BMW 3 Series.

The car is definatley a EURO 6, almost every car is after September 2015.

It says it in the log book too :)

My predicament however is that TFl staff on the phone have given me different advice at different times.
1 person told me that anything after September 2015 is ok and all good no further documentation required.

On the other hand another member of staff has told me that I would need a log book stating that it is a EURO 6 now the issue is I don't have a log book as I just bought the car on Saturday but have the new keepers slip and a photo copy of the original log book.

On the other hand BMW have told me they wont give to me in writing until I present them the log book (Useless.)

So my question is if I do go to the test centre on Wednesday when my appointment is booked with the new keepers slip and photo copy would they accept this? Anyone with experience would be nice to know.

Sorry final question, I noticed a few stone chips on the bonnet of my new car and minor scuffs on the front bumper would this be an issue?

Thank you everyone though it has been months. I thought i'd update.

Yes if it is a diesel you must present a log book. I went back to the dealer and registered the sale online rather than the traditional way of post.

V5 arrived just on time for inspection
:)

I bought a Citroen C5 Grand Picasso 2016 last month, when I took it for a PCO test, they failed me for not producing a headed letter from the Citroen Head office stating my car is euro6, even I had a two sheets of my car data information from my local Citroen dealer, the headed Letter took 4 working days to receive ( a headed letter not an email letter) came back for retest with letter and took only 5 mins.

Let me ask a silly question. Why on earth did you just buy a diesel car given the climate with ULEZ and getting fined for farting off of the left side bed at 8 minutes past 7 in the morning. Why did you just get a diesel engine? I don't get it.

Maybe he works well away from Central London.

In that case a ÂŁ6000 Insignia Diesel makes you the same turnover as a ÂŁ40000 Tesla Model 3.
