I've been in Hilton Head for about a month now and just the last 2 weeks since the golf tournament at Sea Pines I've ben told by security that to pick up Lyft passengers it'll cost me $15. Anyone esle experience this?

It’s possible that any agreement Lyft had with the various POAs may have expired. I haven’t been on Hilton Head in several weeks, so haven’t experienced it for myself.

Next time you are by there, ask if that goes for Uber, as well.

If so, drivers should stop picking up in the gated communities. Let the residents deal with the POA.

My wife went through Saturday and the guard was telling her that Lyft does indeed have to pay. She also had to verify, by showing her app, that she was doing an Uber pickup.

I went in the back gate, without a scheduled pickup, to be closer to the 5X surge near Harbourtown. He just waved me in, lol. It paid off, too.

Lyft has had a bad habit of riding the coattails of Uber's agreements. Uber passengers pay a premium of like $2-$4 for any ride that originates out of Sea Pines, Palmetto Dunes and that other one.... Lyft was just going along with that, not charging passengers, and just picking up people without paying. When I work HHI, I take down my AMP, and switch 100% to Uber. I won't be a part of Lyft's dishonest practices.

There ARE exceptions - IF your passenger has a PRE-ARRANGED pass, you can go to the pass office, and get the pass for free. I think that's only for Sea Pines.

The fees are definitely punitive for Lyft not playing fair.

Went to pickup with Lyft on Friday night and was told at the gate it would be $10 to get in. So I pulled around called the fare and she agreed to pay the $10 in cash. I then called Lyft to ask about it and the guy had no idea. He told me any time that happens to call and they would put the fee in my account. I asked if they would if it was about 10 times a night? He said yes. He didn’t want to hear that Uber had an agreement and Lyft doesn’t. I told him I didn’t want to carry $100 in cash to pay up front and I wouldn’t be driving Lyft until they got it fixed.

Lyft is stupid. Riding on Uber's contracts and agreements thinking they can just roll right in.
