[QUOI did some checking on this looks like after taxes and extra charges comes out to about $270 per week. Of course Enterprise is canceling drivers reservations on all the busiest days of the year they would rather do regular rentals demand is there and they can jack the prices and not have the wheels driven off their cars. $270 dollars a week that's a 100 rides just to pay for the car before gas. No wonder there is no more surges, rent just a half dozen cars a week and kiss surges good bye, because some idiot out there will drive a 168 hrs a w

Nobody drives anymore..... Unless you have to. It appears the herd is thinning a little as it actual surged on and off for an hour today. It may get decent for a short while before the new sheep get their new cars/ rentals and rinse and repeat.... It will never be back to what it was, we may see some $$$$ at times, but nothing like the past.SteveSD Good to see you on SD Forums. Have you been doing much driving lately?
I have made around 20$$ in the last 18 days. And 10 of them were no shows....View attachment 46650

That's not Uber Math, that's real math. You don't think insurance/maintenance is worth ~$700/Mo? LOLI don't understand why anybody would rent a car for $270/week or $1080/month to drive for Uber, thats over $14,000 for the year! I could see it if their primary vehicle needed repairs and somebody rented a vehicle for a week to keep income coming in, but this is just financial craziness.
Wouldn't it be better to finance a used vehicle. Finance $10,000 @ 2.99% for 36 months. Sales tax 8%.
Total monthly payment is approximately $300-315/month.
Save an additional $300/month for 3 years of Uber driving and you would have $10800 cash to purchase your replacement vehicle.
You could, buy a used vehicle in cash and have zero car payments OR you could use $10800 to purchase a higher vehicle class that brings in more income.
Instead of losing $1080/month for a rental car you don't own, you could budget $700 out of you earnings to make car + insurance payments and savings for car replacement in 36 months.
You would save an additional $500/month doing this instead of renting a car, over 3 years is $18,000.
