Uber drivers have been taken advantage of over and over again. From flooded markets, fake surges, no increase in rates with gas increases (Uber got theirs), to now a broken app and testing in markets with low pay. It is time for Drivers to Unite and make a stand, United!
We will coordinate GLOBAL blackouts, social media blitz, and word of mouth. It is understood drivers need Uber as income, I would never want a driver to go hungry or without, but we have to do this, or it will just get worse. We will start with small time blocks at airports and go offline during certain hours to make Uber appreciate its drivers. We can then go bigger and stronger when the volume of drivers unite together. If we unite as one, we can make a difference.
Dear Uber Executives & Board of Directors,
When most of your Drivers "Partnered" with you it was done under the terms of a 80/20 or 75/25 split. This seemed fair since drivers are using their own vehicles, performing car maintenance, carrying insurance, and supplying the fuel, and our time. Over the course of time, you seemed to have determined that you were going to change those terms without consulting your "Partners."
Although fuel prices have risen by 25% and more in markets, Uber raised its booking fees without passing on any fuel increases to your drivers. Uber has also changed its format to reflect "Flat rate pricing" and decided rather than a split with the driver, Uber wanted to become greedy and just pay the driver mileage and time, and do away with the agreed upon split. Uber now seems to be getting 50% or more of the fare. Our riders think we still get 75%, and so very few want to tip us on such as astronomical amount you are charging them in cases.
Not only did Uber go after our splits, Uber lowered the value of drivers through Uber Pool, Express Pool, and a new Surge pricing. More wage theft from Uber. High demand surge areas Uber is still getting a multiplier on, however, giving its drivers as little as $1.00 incentive for high demand times.
Uber, your actions speak volumes of how you think so little of your Drivers and continue to exploit them with continuing changes to lower their income. Drivers have had enough!
Drivers are demanding fares be raised, the new testing be discontinued, fuel surcharges are in place, and transparency with riders to see the breakdown of what Uber and the driver is making off the trip, along with a cap on drivers in an area. Without doing those things drivers are uniting together and will Blackout Uber. We have nothing more to lose Uber, you've taken it all from us.
Signed,
FedUp "Partners"
