Sadly, the Canberra Greenlight Hub will close today (Friday 2 February 2018) at 5.00 pm, never to reopen.

Relations between Canberra drivers and the local Greenlight Hub staff have always been friendly and respectful. We will truly miss the opportunity to interact with them in future.

They have had a steady stream of drivers calling in to thank and wish them all the best for the future.

I do the same now.

It’s the sad end of an era but an era for which we are truly grateful for the friendly, personal and efficient help received.

Farewell Canberra

Dear Jack,

As you know, Friday was the last day that the Canberra Greenlight Hub was open.

The Uber community in Canberra is a special one, and many of you have been involved with the Uber team since the beginning. I wanted to share a note from Alex, our Lead Expert, to you:

Over the past two and a half years I have had the absolute pleasure of getting to know all of you. From launching uberX in October 2015 and then Uber Eats in 2017, it has been an incredible journey. Together we have made an incredible impact on Canberra and in many ways transformed a city.

What's next for me? I'm in my final semester of university and exploring job opportunities overseas after graduation. Jess, Rohan & Saye Kaeo will also still be in Canberra studying so I am sure you'll see us in the passenger seat of your car very soon. On behalf of the team, goodbye (for now) and thank you for an incredible ride!

While nothing can quite match the energy and passion of these four Uber Experts, please know that Uber is committed to supporting our Canberra partners - this will not change with the closure of the Greenlight Hub.

Sincerely,

Natalie
State Manager, NSW & ACT
