Has earnings boost ended in Pittsburgh or is uber just telling me they want me to take a long walk off a short pier?

For a while I was getting the uberX earnings boosts. Then they added uberXL specific boosts and I got those as well. More than a month ago the uberX boosts stopped appearing for me and for the last few weeks I have not seen any of the uberXL ones.

Are other people still getting these and does anyone know what the criteria for them is? Thanks.

There used to be a notification setting to let you know when surge is coming. Whatever you set the minimal at, anything a voice that would message you. Unfortunately, that option is not available on the app anymore.
It only worked for about two weeks anyway, sporadic and didn't even help

Had boosts this week..

6-9 AM, 2-5 PM all week. 12-3 tonight.

I've only been getting weekday ones, haven't seen weekend in awhile.
Are you a newer driver Xeverrer?

Since Sept 2016 ....

And we should be clear what we're talking about here:

Boost = Promotions run by Uber guaranteeing extra bonus in certain areas at certain times. Fixed rate. Indicated by outline; drivers may or may not have them

Surge = "Organic" orange / red areas on your map that pop up when rider demand is high. predictable but not guaranteed

Thanks for the replies. I'm glad I'm not the only one who's not seeing these anymore.

I was really annoyed after Halloween when I found out that most other drivers were on big earnings boosts while I had nothing. I had even received all the messages telling me to go out and I initially didn't understand why there was no surge and cars everywhere.

For me these things should either be on or off, equally for all of us. And if they are on for some drivers then uber should tell everyone about that, because those of us who are not included should know when the playing field has been made uneven. At least if we know about it we have the option to opt out or change our tactics.

I have not seen a boost zone in weeks......
Good riddance IMO. They flood certain areas with drivers, but there is rarely enough supply to go around.
When you strip away all the extraneous promos, boosts, and guarantees the system works. The surge multiplier (when working properly) entices the proper amount of supply (us) to meet the demand (riders).

This is a very true statement. Boosts can be a double edged sword when it comes to over saturation. I've noticed no drop in my earnings without the boosts. If anything I'm making a little more then ususl. I don't miss the boosts at all. The surge will always correct any non boost promos. God bless the surge!!

Well said. It puts the STRATEGY back into the app rewarding those who have the experience and knowledge to know when and where it will surge. If you just throw out boost zones then everyone floods those areas.

Couldn't agree more, lately even the surge has been low. Used to be we could get a couple of surge trips during the morning and evening rush hour, now it's not that common. I wonder how many thousands of drivers there are in our market.
