Lol....OMG...I let thirty rides pass through in about five minutes and not one cent primetime, bonus or anything. I'm posting Uber's below (both at exactly the same time)

The entire night....NOT a cent!!! (Hence the one ride, it was airport, not drunks. And don't even get me started about the $199 guarantee.....they are crazy...or should I say the drivers are crazy accepting drunks at 65 cents a mile and 24 cents a minute....ME GOOD

So that's basically a fake surge?
That's a heat map from Lyft....lol....orange being heavy demand. Usually earlier in the week when it turned orange, a money zone would pop up. I never in my life seen a total nothing non primetime on a Friday night here NEVER....well until tonight with Lyft. They might be testing the waters to see how many fools will pick up drunks for basically a dollar a mile ride take home.....NOT me

Not a good opening weekend for new flat surge...I was actually excited to see it for the first weekend with demand....my jaw dropped

I've pretty much have given up on lyft at this point. Accepting lyft rides tank my roi/hour.

I love it when it starts surging like that, I turn off the app, go to where the likely center of the action is, park with my lights on, engine running, and wait for it... wait for it... then just like in the movies, a couple approach, ask if I'm available and I get a rider. My meter is an app, set to $2.90 mile and $0.50 a min, min fare $10. SO while the pretenders are being soaked by the app companies, I'm cleaning up taking pax that can't get a ride.

For you haters, yes I have commercial livery insur, yes I have livery permit. And yes, the cops don't care, they just want the drunks and party goers to go home.

There is surge for sure, only we're not getting any of it.
Perfectly worded....seemed like they got excited during the week with the slot machine flat fee's, then some higher up said "pull the plug" we are about to make money of driving fools.

I think Lyft has many people on that scam lease slaving here

The easiest way to cross reference how much they are charging the riders is to open up the Rider App and plug in a destination and see how much they quote you. The simplest way to check this is to just plug in an address you know is a supposed to be a minimum fare for the rider ($6 is min fare in most markets). So if the minimum fare is $6 but they quote you $15 you know the multiplier is 2.5X. And then you can cross reference the Uber Driver App and if they are only offering you a set surge of $2 for your next ride you know you are getting royally screwed.

Yes...I do that all the time sir....Lyft was trying to pull my pants down, even worse than Uber ever done. It's still going on, higher prices by like three-four dollars more in heat zones . I haven't seen one money primetime zone since the airport Thursday....it has to be a test to see who's taking rides in high demand area's without extra going to drivers...it's actually quite weird and insulting.

If I remember right, when Uber started the flat stuff before they did the 3 for $4.50 scams, they also did the NO surge when there was heavy morning and afternoon rush.

Lyft riders suck at tipping! Can't believe I get better and way more tips on Uber!
I was wondering about how lowzy tips are with Lyft. I have a service business that also takes tips and I usually get about 75% of my customers offering something. With Lyft rides I'm lucky to get 10% of the rides to toss me a buck or two. Even when it's a long ride.

I like Lyft. Their app is better. Their paxs are fine and tip the same as Uber's (which is rarely). Their CTBs are same or better than User's. And they are less mainstream, which is a plus in my world. As far as the pay goes, I am keeping a record with earning both from Lyft and Uber - the average per mile, per trip, and per hour is nearly identical. They all play tricks trying to convince you one is better than another, but numbers show they all average to the same figures.

Here they are exactly the same (down to the percentages of time).....during certain bar times, they even increase fares exactly the same time with drunk demand....except last night!!!

Going to have to open lyft app here in Austin during bar hours to see if they are trying same thing yet, I can see them trying this hood ass shit, and especially in summer here...
It's actually kind of weird Jay....they will not give you rides in the heat zones with increased fares unless you're sitting near it.....you drive into the dark orange and sometimes the purple zone pops up with another pink one with prime time. It's for sure not a sticky, can't leave the zones (sucks)....from my couple rides, Uber surge actually pays more I think....to be honest, I'm running Lyft only at the airports.

-------------
I had about twenty rides come through about four miles from heavy demand and not one had increased fare. They are basically forcing you to ant into heavy demand and hope it's worth it.....lol

Lyft officially got rid of the cherry picking and trying to align ants to certain demand area's to even further slice our own throats with increased fares, but decreased primetime to drivers......screw them, unless they sticky surge, NO drunky lyft pax!!!!!

The best is the personal power zones. Its random, often causes drivers to illegally park somewhere like an highway as you need to stay in a purple or preferably pink zone where it goes up $0.03/second till it hits the max.

Do you think some Lyft executives sat around a table and one of them mentioned this as a motivating tactic and they all high 5d each other?

Then you get an uber request and log off Lyft anyway.

But you do get rides like this which always makes me hard
