So I have an SUV and registered as XL. Almost all of my requests are for UberX. At first i took them willingly as i was new and wanted to get some experience. I understand how to maximize my money now and have become more selective.
Saturday i turned down 5 X requests during 2AM surge waiting for an XL-- which I got.
I also routinely turn down X requests over 3 miles.

I know started getting emails telling me my acceptance rate is to low. how many nastigram warnings will i get before a penalty?

Any suggestions on how to get more XL fares and less x requests?

Not accepting them will cause your acceptance to rate to be lower. If by turn down, you meant accept, cancel, reason, other (ACRO), then you should be good. If not you should try it.

I have an XL as well and did the same last weekend in downtown areas (in addition to several other times). Have not received any messages from uber yet.

I have asked them a couple of times about the XL-only or an option for logging in as either, but have been told that the option is not available for Houston yet.

My understanding as per an uber manager that I had on the phone one time about an incident is that in Houston if you have your T&C and that's the caveat your account can be adjusted to log in as XL only or X and XL. I have been meaning to go by the Houston office and ask someone in person however I haven't felt like spending the gas money to get there lol

This would be a major change if they start allowing this here. I am still waiting on a response on my second prodding to Uber about this.

Please keep us posted if you learn something new regarding this.

The only reason I question that is if you do not accept the pain it does not show up in any of your rides but if you accept and cancel for any reason it does. That's where my confusion is.
If you don't accept the ping it counts against your acceptance rate. And anything below what they require will get you deactivated.

If you accept the ping and cancel right away. It doesn't effect your acceptance rate. This is pretty much the norm for lots of drivers, however drivers have been deactivated for this. I wouldn't worry about it because they were primary X drivers cancelling a million rides per day.

Keep in mind Uber tracks everything and you can be deactivated at anytime for any reason according to them. That being said...

I've never, not once, accepted then canceled a ride unless the rider requested I cancel... usually because they couldn't figure out where they are and direct me to their actual location so they got frustrated waiting on me. I pick up pax with ratings of less than 4.7. I've driven for pickups as far 7 miles away or as long as 15 minutes.

Call me crazy.

I would like to know about this as well, I drive a minivan and as of right now, I cant be too picky because this a full time gig for me and im disabled so finding work anywhere else is tough. I have to think about my three kids, so I pick up x riders too, but if I could focus on XL only, it would maximize my profit I think. I just started this gig and have only driven 2 days, so any tips are welcomed.

Guys don't believe me do a little bit of search in on the forum. You are all able to run your operation the way you want. I choose to be as profitable as possible so I have basic rules I follow to ensure that happens everytime I get a ping.

I drive a Mercedes SUV and rarely do I get Select. 99% of the time I get X. I know that before Uber would give me Select status I had to have I believe it was 19 or 20 pax giving me 5 stars. Which wasn't hard to accomplish - it is just that I don't see to many select and still driving a majority of x's. I'm planning on contacting them on the reason why? I would think they make more money on me as a select than and X......I guess they make more money on both.....

Do you feel that you will receive enough XL pings to support yourself? I have an UberSelect vehicle and I'm only getting about 20% Select pings.
